A successful conversion. Launched in February in collaboration with Universal’s creative agency, A&R Studios, YouTuber and comedian Mister V’s pizza range has been a smash hit on supermarket shelves.
According to figures from the Nielsen IQ panelist broadcast by Rayon Boissons, the “Pizza Delamama by Mister V” entered the ranking of the best consumer product launches of 2022 by placing tenth.
1.4 million euros of turnover in 3 months
Mister V announced the launch of his pizza in a video posted on YouTube on February 4 and viewed more than 7 million times since then. The comedian-turned-actor played Kevino Delamama, a successful pizza chef determined to conquer the French market with his 480g “Six Fromagio” and “Royale Pouleto” pizzas sold in a box bearing his image.
Marketed in the frozen departments of Auchan and Carrefour, the product generated sales of 1.4 million euros in the three months following its launch. In May, Mister V already gave itself the “diamond pizza” certification by announcing that it had sold more than 700,000 pizzas.
Liquids dominate the ranking
However, the ranking of the best launches of 2022 in large distribution is dominated by drinks, and in particular by Go Bubble Tea, which ranks first with a turnover of 3 million euros generated in three months.
It is followed by Heineken Silver beer (2.2 million euros) and Nescafé Farmers Origins capsules (2.1 million) tied with Kinder Duo cookies. RockStar Energy Drink, which aims for a 20% market share of energy drinks by 2026, completes the top 5 (1.7 million euros).
