Japan: Airbus sends a team of specialists to the scene after the A350 crash

In a press release, the European aircraft manufacturer indicated that it would provide “technical assistance” to the Japanese Transportation Safety Board (JTSB), responsible for the investigation.

A few hours after the collision of a Japan Airlines A350 with “what appears to be” a Bombardier Dash 8 of the Japanese Coast Guard at Tokyo-Haneda Airport, Airbus has just published a press release confirming the ” accident”. “The aircraft involved in the accident, registered with the number JA13XJ, was MSN 538, delivered to Japan Airlines on November 10, 2021, the European aircraft manufacturer states. It was equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.”

Airbus also specifies the conditions of its technical support to the various authorities within the framework of the investigation: “In accordance with the recommendations of Annex 13 of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Airbus will provide technical assistance to the Office of Enquêtes et d’Analyses (BEA) of France and the Japan Transportation Safety Board (JTSB) in charge of the investigation.”
