The governor of the Bank of France estimated on Wednesday that a new rate cut by the ECB next week was “very likely”, adding that it “would not be the last”.
“A fall is very likely” during the meeting of the monetary institution on October 17, after a first fall in June, “and it will not be the last,” said François Villeroy de Galhau in franceinfo, adding that “the pace (of the fall, ndl) will depend on the evolution of the fight against inflation”.
The governor of the Bank of France, who raised his French growth forecast to 1.1%, believes “that victory against inflation is in sight.”
