Around 10,000 homes were still without electricity this Sunday, November 24 at 8:30 a.m., after the passage of Storm Caetano, the electricity grid manager Enedis announced in a press release.
The number of homes without power increased to 270,000 overnight from Thursday to Friday, as a result of strong winds and snowfall. The latest report showed 18,000 homes without electricity.
“Restock all customers” this Sunday night
Enedis assured this Sunday that “more than 95% of the clients who had been deprived of electricity are replenished in this way” after the passage of the Caetano storm.
“2,200 Enedis technicians and 400 service providers from all over France have been premobilized within the framework of the FIRE (Rapid Intervention Force in Electricity) and are working intensively to replenish our customers,” promises the head of electricity.
“All our teams and those of our service providers remain mobilized and Enedis intends to resupply all customers by tonight,” the Enedis teams assure.
During this first snow episode of the season, winds blew up to 130 km/h.
