Two and a half years before the 2027 presidential elections, civil servant Lucie Castets and the national secretary of the environmentalists Marine Tondelier decided to create a website – gagnons-ensemble.fr – in the hope of uniting the left around a candidacy common with a view to the next elections.
In a cross interview given to the Ouest France newspaper this Saturday, November 30, the two political women call on the left to unite around an “ambitious and solid project, anchored in everyday concerns”, without “putting this or that name as a prerequisite for collective work.”
“Let’s not give them this gift.”
“Every conflict in our own field is an offering made to our adversaries. Let us not give them this gift,” declare Lucie Castets and Marine Tondelier in this interview, pointing the finger at the extreme right “while everywhere populist discourses gain ground .
The two political figures also emphasize the “urgency” of the political moment: “We no longer have time to waste (…) We believe that every victory is a team story, and that urgency requires that we be able to unite. around our convergences.”
According to them, this call for unification aims to “respond to democratic, ecological and social challenges”: “So that our parents are well cared for, so that our children grow up on a habitable planet, so that each and every one can live decently their salary, so that our public liberties are respected and France can continue to be proud of its motto.
In recent days, the left denounced Michel Barnier’s “concessions” in the national demonstration, while the head of Government made a series of announcements demanded by the RN this Thursday, November 28 due to the threat of censorship.
