Xgimi saw the big picture of the 2024 edition of CES. It is not one, but two smart video projectors that the Chinese manufacturer presented at the American exhibition dedicated to innovation: the Horizon Max and the Aladdin.
The first is one of the brightest 4K smart video projectors on the market, indicates The Verge. Thanks to its “Dual Light 2.0” hybrid light source, which combines laser and LED, the device is capable of generating a significant light intensity of 3100 ISO lumens, says Xgimi.
According to the company, the video projector provides a contrast of 2000:1 for color accuracy that is considered remarkable. All of this comes with DTS audio support. Two specificities that give it the IMAX Enhance certification. A label that indicates to buyers that the device supports this image format compatible with programs from streaming platforms such as Disney+.
The Aladdin: a Full HD image up to 100 inches
Like other smart projectors, Horizon Max can analyze the characteristics of the walls around it and automatically determine the best location to project an image. Another feature, called Intelligent Screen Adaptation 5.0, allows you to memorize the various settings associated with it.
For example, the projector can maintain gaming settings when pointed at a wall and switch to dedicated movie-watching settings when pointed at another surface.
For its part, the Aladdin video projector merges three devices into one: a ceiling lamp, a projector and a Bluetooth speaker. Specifically, it connects directly to the socket already installed in the ceiling and offers a Full HD (1080p) image of up to 100 inches.
The built-in lamp can be controlled directly from the projector’s remote control or via the Xgimi app. According to The Verge, Aladdin offers 360-degree sound thanks to its built-in Harman Kardon speakers that can also be used when the projector lamp is off.
These two projectors work with Google TV and Android TV. Xgimi does not indicate a final price or a precise release date for the two items. The company says, however, that Horizon Max should cost less than $3,000 and be available “late 2024.” On the other hand, the detailed specifications, price and availability of the Xgimi Aladdin “will be announced” later, the brand specifies.
