At CES, the technology fair currently being held in Las Vegas, the company Palmplug presented a gaming glove. It covers each finger of the hand thanks to sensors that allow movements to be precisely followed.
The Palmplug also has haptic feedback, a slight vibration that adapts to the movements of the fingers, as well as luminous feedback through LED lights, points out the specialized media The Verge. This technology is dedicated to video games and will shine especially in the virtual reality sector thanks to its sensor system. Palmplug is also targeting musicians thanks to Haptune, a hand movement tracking system that can record the notes played on an instrument.
Help stroke victims
But Palmplug has also set foot in the medical sector with its subsidiary TheraPlay. In fact, this use of the glove is reserved for victims of strokes with the aim of precisely controlling their rehabilitation. Specifically, patients play a game equipped with the glove and doctors can precisely analyze their needs and the progress of their healing. The company presents several games dedicated to the stages of rehabilitation on its website.
The Palmplug was presented as part of the Consumers Electronics Show (CES), a fair dedicated to new technologies currently being held in Las Vegas. You can find Tech&Co articles live from the show on our website.
