Do not comply with consent, the hours of authorized appeal, the lists of Bloctel or the prohibition of certain sectors: for a few weeks, the repression of fraud (DGCCRF) has multiplied publications that involve companies that use illegal lisiegation. With the key to the fines sometimes very heavy.
This July 17, the organization, which depends on the Ministry of the Economy, published a tweet questioning the energy of the B company, announcing a sanction of 253,275 euros for 3,377 abusive calls. In fact, the company operates in the field of energy renewal, where Lisiértano is prohibited. A salty fine for the company, which must resolve the sum of 75 euros per illegal call.
In a few weeks, DGCCRF tweets and publications with respect to abusive sanctions have multiplied. Almost 420,000 euros for the Eco Habitat Action company in May, for the same reasons, but also more than 260,000 euros against the technological company in early July, for having approached 5,000 people still registered in Bloctel. Or more than 50 euros per illegal call.
“Particularly deterrent sanction”
Each time, the DGCCRF multiplies publications on social networks (X or Instagram), using the practice of “name and shame” that consists of pointing the finger to companies that do not respect the law. A strategy also used to help the general public identify twisted influences.
According to the figures also shared by the DGCCRF, 5,000 checks were carried out in 2023 with respect to the abusive of the telephone organization, for a total of 4 million euros fine. In the first part of 2024, many sanctions have not yet pronounced, 2.3 million euros were acted in fines for 6,200 controlled establishments.
The controls were often initiated following reports of Internet users in Signalconso: 50,000 in total in relation to the abusive telephone canvas, in 2024. “Most of these reports refer to the energy renewal sector,” specifies the DGCCRF to Tech & Co.
A figure that could continue to rise: the canvas will be, for all sectors, illegal by default since August 2026.
