A man has been killed in bombings by Ukrainian forces in the Russian border town of Tyotkino, the region’s governor said on Thursday.
Russian regions bordering Ukraine have repeatedly accused Kiev’s military of indiscriminate shelling and drone strikes that have killed civilians and damaged infrastructure.
The town of Tyotkino in Glushkovskiy district “was shelled from the Ukrainian side,” Kursk Governor Roman Starovoit said on social media.
“The driver of a forklift was injured and died before the ambulance arrived. I express my deepest condolences to the victim’s family,” the official said.
The governor added that Ukrainian shelling also damaged a power line in the village of Gordeevka, about 40 kilometers east of Tyotkino, but no one was injured.
“Emergency teams will start restoring the power line when possible,” he assured.
