A traveler was detained at the Los Angeles airport with cow pajamas completely soaked in methamphetamine and two suitcases full of clothes impregnated with this drug, the US justice system announced this Tuesday.
The suspect had checked in his two suitcases to Sydney on November 6, according to a press release from the US Department of Justice. Their x-rays aroused suspicion among customs agents, who decided to inspect the suitcases.

Inside the luggage, authorities found more than a dozen items of clothing, including an adult cow-shaped jumpsuit.
The fabrics were completely stiff after drying and covered in a surprising white powder. Tests revealed they had been soaked in a solution containing methamphetamine, a powerful illegal stimulant, before being dried.
In total, the clothes contained more than a kilo of drugs.
“Drug traffickers continue to invent creative ways to smuggle dangerous narcotics in order to obtain illicit profits,” said Martín Estrada, federal prosecutor for central California, quoted in a press release.
The suspect, a 31-year-old California resident, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. If convicted, he faces between 10 years in prison and life in prison.
