People would have survived the accident of the Air India plane that connects the city of Ahmedabad, in the northwest of India, in London, which crashed just after its takeoff this Thursday, June 12.
“Wounded passengers were transported by local authorities to the closest hospitals,” said Campbell Wilson, head of Air India, in a video posted on social networks.
Early in the day, the Ahmedabad police had said that “there is apparently no survivor.”
242 passengers on board
Rescuers recovered 204 bodies from the accident site, according to the local police chief. A total of 242 passengers, including 230 travelers and 12 crew members, were on the plane.
“We found 204 bodies and 41 people are currently being treated,” said GS Malik, who said that this figure included crew members and passengers (242) of the plane, as well as victims at the place where he crashed. In fact, the plane crashed into a residential area in Ahmedabad, a city in the northwest of India.
Call of anguish
The device, a long distance of the Boeing type 787-8 Dreamliner, had taken off for Gatwick airport in the United Kingdom, in the first details delivered by the General Directorate of Indian Civil Aviation.
Almost immediately he issued a call of anguish before colliding “outside the perimeter of the airport,” he said, without giving other details about the circumstances of the accident.
The videos published on social networks show the plane that quickly loses the altitude just after taking off, seems to lack power, before falling into buildings and exploding in an orange fire ball.
