Microsoft said Friday that it would ensure that its headquarters based in China no longer provide technical support for IT systems of the United States Ministry of Defense, after the revelations of a research site earlier this week.
The head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, has confirmed that the tasks related to the cloud (distance of IT) of the Ministry of Defense had been subcontracted to engineers in China, but said that this country would no longer be involved “in any way” in their computer systems.

“Microsoft has changed its support system so that US government clients will guarantee that no China -based engineering equipment provides technical assistance for cloud services of the Ministry of Defense and associated services,” said Frank Shaw, Microsoft Communications Director, in a message posted in X.
