The fight “ceased” on Sunday in Soueida, according to the Syrian government, after the resumption of this city in the south of the country by the groups of Druzes and the redistribution of state forces in the region, in the control of violence between communities that left almost a thousand dead in a week.
“Soueida was evacuated from all tribal combatants, and the fighting in the city’s districts have ceased,” wrote the Syrian Ministry spokesman Alredine Al-Baba on Telegram.
940 dead according to OSDH
The violence between the Druses and the Sunni Bedouin groups that exploded on July 13 in the Region of Souid, in southern Syria, left 940 dead, according to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (OSDH), an organization based in London that is based on a large network of sources throughout the country.
Almost 87,000 people were transferred by the fight, according to the International Organization for Migration. Sirian Power announced on Saturday a high fire in the province of Soueida and began to display the forces there with the aim of restoring peace.
“The security forces will mobilize all their energies to end attacks and fights and restore stability in the government,” said the ministry spokesman.
The government government, Ahmad Al-Chareh, had already deployed its forces on Tuesday in Soueida. However, he had eliminated them after the bombings of several objectives of power in Damascus by Israel, which says he wants to protect the Druse community and considered by the presence of Syrian government forces in this region near its border.
Subsequently, the fire between Syria and Israel was completed, under the auspices of the United States. The Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, urged Syrian authorities on Saturday to “request accounts and cut any person guilty of atrocities, even in their own ranks.”
