Fuel prices fell very slightly last week. Diesel was quoted on average at 1.676 euros per liter, 0.4 cents less, and 95-E10 unleaded at 1.8417 euros per liter, 0.5 cents less, according to the latest survey by the Ministry of Ecological Transition stopped on Friday June 16.
price stabilization
If we look at the historical curve, prices have stabilized in recent weeks, after the high volatility of the previous months.
Although the head of Totalenergies indicated this morning at RMC that he intended to keep the ceiling at 2 euros per liter next year at the stations in his network, prices at pumps seem to be on the right track for the moment so as not to cross this symbolic threshold.
You have to go back to July 2022 to see diesel and gasoline prices above 2 euros per liter.
For the time being, this cap is therefore not applied, but it should act as a shield in the event of an increase in oil prices.
An unlikely short-term scenario: a barrel of Brent North Sea lost another $2.3 last week to settle at $73. The appreciation of the euro against the dollar also makes it possible to reduce the bill, even in the event of a slight rise in the coming months.
