Renault reported an increase in sales volume for the first six months of the year on Wednesday, driven by its good results in Europe, where they rose 24%.
After four consecutive years of decline, the diamond group saw its global sales increase by 13% in the first half, to 1,133,667 units compared to 1,000,199 units in the same period of 2022, despite a context disrupted by the semi-conductor crisis and the closure of the automaker’s activities in Russia.
Four consecutive years of decline
The group’s order book in Europe represents 3.4 months of sales at the end of June 2023 and is expected to remain above the two-month target for the full year, even with a market decline of 30% compared with 2019, Renault said in a statement.
Alpine, the group’s sports brand, relaunched in 2017, sold 1,800 vehicles in the first six months of the year, helped by the successful launches of two limited series, the Alpine A110 San Remo 73 and the Alpine A110 R Le Mans.
