Fuel prices: diesel and gasoline rose last week

Fuel prices rose slightly last week but remained at historically low levels compared to peaks in March and June.

After falling sharply in early September with the government rebate rising to 30 cents and an additional 20 cents discount on the TotalEnergies network, fuel prices started rising again last week.

Diesel thus closes the week with an average price of 1.6956 euros per liter, 3.6 cents more, and 95-E10 unleaded gasoline at 1.5185 euros per liter, or 3.1 cents more, according to the statement. of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition arrested on Friday, September 9. 30

Diesel thus remains below the threshold of 1.70 euros per liter, a level that has been exceeded since February 18, before falling since mid-September.

Regarding gasoline, despite last week’s increase, we remain at a historically low level. We have to go back to June 2021 to find an unleaded 95-E10 below 1.52 euros per litre.

A staggering rise when a barrel of North Sea Brent saw its price drop last week to $89.7 a barrel.

Perhaps a first consequence of TotalEnergies stations running out of stock, even though only a hundred stations run out of fuel out of a total of 3,500 in France. The tank truck network applying a discount of 20 additional cents to the government, refueling in other brands mathematically increases the average price of a full tank of fuel.
