This last weekend of the school holidays will be very quiet on the roads. Bison Futé has classified Friday, Saturday and Sunday as green in the sense of laps. But be careful, because the color green does not mean that you will not meet anyone on the roads.
“There will be many of you who will travel, as in the last 15 days, mainly to the Rhône Valley and Ile-de-France,” warns Radio Vinci Autoroutes.
A busy Friday in the main cities
Regarding departures on weekends, Radio Vinci Autoroutes anticipates intense traffic from mid-afternoon in the main cities. “In the Paris region, on the outskirts of Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines, on the A10 motorway, traffic will be intense starting at 3 p.m. this Friday, January 5, and will then progressively lengthen until the early hours of the afternoon. ”explains the organization in a statement.
In the west, be careful on the A10 motorway between Poitiers and Tours or between Angers and Nantes. Traffic will also be heavy from Lyon towards the Alpine resorts and towards the Mediterranean from 5pm.
Busy Saturday in the alpine resorts, with snowfall
Saturday is classified as green by Bison Futé. But take precautions if you leave the ski resorts in the Alps. “On Saturday the 6th, traffic will be intense at the end of the morning, at 12:00 p.m.,” explains Radio Vinci Autoroutes.
According to Le Dauphiné Libéré, this Saturday morning traffic will be more complicated on the roads of the Alps, so slowdowns are expected.
The newspaper also asks motorists to be careful because snowfall is expected at 1,200 meters above sea level this Saturday.
A green Sunday
This Sunday it is classified green by Bison Futé throughout France. However, be careful in the late afternoon of this January 7 in major cities. Starting at 5:00 p.m., Radio Vinci Autoroutes expects some more people around Angers and Tours to return to Paris.
It will also be necessary to have denser traffic around Toulouse, when crossing Montpellier, in the Lyon basin, but also in Marseille or on the Côte d’Azur. Radio Vinci Autoroutes advises: “take the road in the morning to avoid traffic jams as much as possible.”
