The price of gasoline continues to rise at the pump. Last week, unleaded 95-E10 increased by one cent to 1.8436 euros per liter on average in France, according to the latest weekly report from the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
On the contrary, diesel registered its third consecutive week of falls. The most consumed fuel in France, with an average of 1.8302 euros per liter on February 16, was 1.7851 euros per liter last week.
Fuel prices, therefore, evolve dispersedly, while a barrel of North Sea Brent rose last week by 1.6 dollars to 85.7 dollars.
The outlook, however, remains oriented downwards: oil fell on Monday due, in particular, to contradictory signals about the Chinese economy, which fuel fears about demand, and in anticipation of US inflation.
The publication of the February consumer price index (CPI) in the United States, scheduled for this Tuesday, may or may not reinforce the prospects for a cut in American rates, and with them the dollar, which could influence oil prices . In fact, crude oil prices are denominated in dollars and a weaker dollar supports demand.
