Flash Radar: how does this application that promises to eliminate the withdrawal of license points work?

Launched by a law firm, the “Flash Radar” application allows you to challenge a violation to avoid having points taken off your driving license.

With a new record for traffic fines in 2023, this is a service that could be very successful. The “Flash Radar” application allows you to dispute fines received to avoid having points removed from your driving license.

A free application, but it requires 57 euros to start a dispute file. Behind this service is the Caumont office, specialized in road law and which has more than 30,000 licenses saved in 40 years of experience.

A well-known flaw that must be challenged

The steps, detailed on the application’s official website, are quite simple. You must first “show” your infringement notice. Thanks to text recognition technology from the image of your complaint, the necessary information is collected to initiate the dispute file.

You will then have to pay this one-time amount of 57 euros and let the law firm take care of the litigation file.

A relatively complex procedure for an individual, but in principle it remains quite simple, with radar photographs that most of the time do not allow the driver to be identified at the wheel of the illuminated vehicle.

“In order to prosecute him as the driver of the vehicle, the Public Ministry has the obligation to identify him as the author of the crime. Without arrest by the police, without a complaint from his employer, or a photo that allows him to identify you (98% of the images photographs do not allow us to formally determine who the driver is), your points will be kept,” explains the official website of the application.

A cost that exceeds the package of 57 euros

Therefore, the success of the operation seems guaranteed at 98%, if we take into account this index of radar images that do not allow the driver to be identified, since most of the time he flashes from behind.

In addition to radar violations, mainly for speeding, but also for running a red light, the law firm has recently proposed challenging all fines issued without vehicle interception, “on the fly by order of law enforcement or through video verbalization”. , states an article in Le Parisien, citing as examples the failure to wear a seat belt or the use of the telephone while driving.

You simply have to respect the legal dispute period of 45 days… and keep in mind that avoiding the withdrawal of points entails additional costs:

“The main risk is financial. In effect, after having challenged your infringement, the amount of the fine to pay could be higher than initially planned (200 euros on average),” details the Caumont Cabinet on its site, specifying that “this The service is 100% legal and no mention will appear on your criminal record.”
