The holidays are officially starting, Bison Futé is expecting a lot of people on the roads this weekend, starting Friday 5 July. The most difficult day, however, will be Saturday 6 July: the day is classified as red in terms of departures throughout the country.
A red Friday in Ile-de-France
This Friday, July 5, is classified as orange in the direction of the exits in France and red in Île-de-France, where Bison Futé expects “very difficult” traffic from the end of the morning, “in particular on the A6 and A10 motorways, quickly making traffic difficult on these roads”. “The boulevard periferico, the A86 and the A6B will also be affected by these difficulties”, specifies Bison Futé in its press release.
In the rest of the country, Bison Futé is predicting slowdowns on the main roads of the Loire and southern countries, but also in the north-east regions or towards Normandy.
A red Saturday all over France
This day will be the first of the big days of departure of the summer, with traffic “very difficult throughout the territory”. The difficulties of this Saturday classified in red will begin very early: Bison Futé advises leaving the Paris region before 6 am.
Bison Futé therefore advises avoiding:
- the A7 motorway, between Lyon and Orange, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and between Orange and Marseille, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
- the A10 motorway, between Paris and Orleans, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., between Orleans and Poitiers, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and between Poitiers and Bordeaux, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- the A11 motorway, between Angers and Nantes, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,
- the A9 motorway, between Orange and Montpellier, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., between Montpellier and Narbonne, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and between Narbonne and Spain, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- by the A43 motorway, between Lyon and Chambéry, from 12 noon to 2 pm,
- the A75 motorway, between Clermont-Ferrand and Montpellier, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
- the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205), between France and Italy, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A quieter Sunday
Bison Futé is predicting a quieter Sunday on the roads, with an orange day in the direction of departures only in Auvergne Rhône Alpes and in a large western and Breton district.
The A7 motorway will be particularly busy between Lyon and Orange throughout the day. “The roads serving Spain (A63) and the Massif Central (A75) will also experience difficulties in the middle of the day,” warns Bison Futé. The A6, A10 and A13 motorways will also be congested in Ile-de-France.
