It’s been 60 years since James Bond drove an Aston Martin. The film was released in 1964. Golden finger with 007, then played by Sean Connery, for the first time at the wheel of the legendary DB5 and its many gadgets.
For the occasion, Aston Martin is offering an experience that will delight fans of the famous British agent. A “House of Q” has just opened on July 18 and runs until August 4 in the heart of London: meet us at number 12-13 Burlington Arcade, near Piccadilly. A fake kiosk provides access through a secret door to a space that would be the perfect hideout for James Bond.
Speakeasy Champagne Bar and Precious Archives
The show features a speakeasy serving Bollinger champagne, 007’s favourite brand. Enjoy a glass while admiring technical drawings and original parts of the DB5, as well as the original script. Golden fingerfilm posters and set photos unearthed from the archives of Aston Martin and EON Productions.
The most attentive will also be able to discover clues about a future Aston Martin model, according to a press release from the British brand. Perhaps James Bond’s next company car?
Launched in September 1963, the DB5 was equipped with a powerful 4-litre engine that allowed it to reach speeds of over 240 km/h. Its emphasis on the adventures of James Bond allowed it to achieve iconic status, making it one of the most famous cars in the world.
