137 km/h instead of 80: the Alpine is stuck in the gendarmerie

A driver travelling at 137 km/h in the Landes has lost his licence… and his Alpine, which he will have to recover from the pound.

There are no special regulations for the Alpine A110. Although this vehicle is now equipped with the rapid intervention equipment of the gendarmerie, the French sports coupé is still subject to the current speed limits.

This is what a pensioner from the Landes experienced last Friday. He went off at 137 km/h on the RD10, a road limited to 80 km/h, near Dax, according to an article in Sud Ouest.

The speed limit, set at 130 km/h, which is 50 km/h in excess, led to the revocation of his licence and the confiscation of his vehicle.

Despite the mobilization of law enforcement during the Olympic Games, such interventions are increasing this summer: this Jaguar and this Twingo have also been confiscated for speeding.
