From the announcement of the future judicial liquidation of Angell, the new company that designs connected electric bicycles, customers inform their concerns about the future of their connected bicycle.
If all questions have not yet received answers, in particular when maintaining the necessary application to access certain characteristics (such as mileage and change of certain screens), customers could be reimbursed by their bicycles in some resellers.
Refunds for non -compliance
As Tech & CO pointed out, which has contacted several worried customers, brands such as Carrefour allow the recovery and reimbursement of the bicycle, as part of the retirement of first -generation angel models.
This is the case of Olivier, Anne and Arthur. Seconds in the store, and the refund was immediate, “confirms one of them.
A possibility offered by the legal guarantee of conformity, which, as indicated by the Public Service site, allows you to request a refund on a property, two years of its issuance “which is new, used or reconditioned.” To operate, this guarantee must worry “an existing defect at the time of issuing the property.”
First generation bicycles are affected by this measure, since the brand issued a reminder after several cases of breakage at the frame level.
It was this problem that precipitated the end of Angell. Unable to pay its clients, the new company backed by businessman Marc Simoncini turned against its manufacturer, the SEB group, to “shed light” on this design defect.
The reimbursement becomes even more urgent since bicycles are expensive (2,600 euros), even if the models sold by Carrefour benefited from a strong promotion, around 1,000 euros at the time of sale.
For other customers, those with second generation bicycles, there is no ideal solution, except the creation of Ellipse, which offers a recovery of 500 euros for the purchase of one of its new models, whatever the generation.
Contacted by Tech & Co, Carrefour has not yet answered us.
