Around sixty kilometers of traffic jams were already filled on Saturday morning, the roads of Isère and Savoy, despite the reopening in Extremis on Friday of the RN90 road that leads to the Tarentaise stations.
The day is classified in red in the direction of the departures in a large part of the country with the beginning of the school holidays for zone B (Aix, Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy, Nantes, Niza, Orléans, Tours, Reims, Rennes Rouen, Strasbourg …).
Abundant snowfall
Around 9:20 am, a peak of 64 km tapas was observed in the Auverne-Rhône-Alpes region, mainly on the A43 highway axis that connects Lyon to Chambéry.

Between Albertville and the Tarentaise Valley, the RN90 outings are closed to prevent motorists from taking small roads with the hope of saving time to reintegrate later. The behaviors that generally cause “considerable decelerations”, according to the prefect of Savoy. “Do not blindly follow your GPS” and “be patient,” insists on state services.
130,000 vehicles are expected
Last weekend, the sliding of several imposing rocks in the RN90 had caused large traffic jams between Albertville and Moutiers, extending the travel of motorists for several hours to access the ski area of the 3 valleys (Tignes, Val- Val- D’isère, La Plagne, les arcs …).
Some 1,500 shipwrecked roads had found shelter on Saturday night to Sunday at open -eased accommodation centers.
The compensation and safety work of the road was carried out during the week, with a Tour of Force on Thursday: the protective network in Mountainside, partly destroyed by the fall of the rock blocks, could be reinstated.
Almost 130,000 vehicles are expected in total in the sector between Friday and Sunday, according to Savoy’s prefecture. As an increase, 22,000 vehicles must circulate on Friday and 32,000 on Saturday. Downstream, 18,000 and 29,000 respectively the same days
