A “much higher” success rate: first positive permission evaluation at age 17

A very good success rate

In total in 2024, 290,050 17 -year -olds presented their practical driving license, or 33.7% of this age group.

Young candidates who handle better than their elders: with 211,471 of them who obtained their license. This represents a success rate of almost 73%, “much higher than that observed for all candidates, all combined age groups (58.35%).”

This permission at 17 also seems to have seduced young people throughout the territory. Road safety evokes “notable increases in inscriptions, both in urban and rural areas”, with “particularly positive results in a small Parisian crown and in foreign departments.

No more accident than other age groups

We also expected a return to a possible excessive accident, knowing that young people have more accidents in statistics.

“The provisional figure of traffic accidents in 2024 shows that 17 -year -old young drivers do not have a higher accident rate than other age groups,” said road security press release.
