Orange, Credit Agricole … Who are good and bad students in the electrification of commercial fleets?

Companies must take the objectives of less polluting vehicles in their fleets, established by the Mobility Orientation Law (LOM) of 2020.

The Mobility Orientation Law (LOM) is still struggling to run for companies. This is what arises from the third annual report of the transport of NGOs and the environment (T&E) on the respect of the electrification objectives of the fleets of the large companies included in the LOM law. The text entered into force in 2020 forces 3,700 groups whose fleets contain more than 100 cars and public services to include a growing participation of low -emission vehicles (electric or rechargeable hybrids) in all orders for car and public services placed in a year .

But in 2024, T & e points out that only a quarter of these large groups reached their greenish fee, while 45% have simply not registered any electric vehicle.

The NGO believes that “the delay in the electrification results, especially due to the lack of commitment of the management committees of the delaying companies, which did not start their transition project, unlike those that show good results.”

The post makes the SNCF

In its report, transport and the environment occupy significant differences of the electrification rate between large groups, which, however, belong to the same activity sector. In telecommunications, Orange thus states 41% of electric vehicles among those registered on any side of Altice whose fleet of about 1,000 cars includes only 4% of rechargeable hybrids.

In the building sector, the giants Vinci and Bouygues have fleets of more than 10,000 vehicles, more than a quarter of which are electric, while this percentage falls to 6% in NGE. Among public groups, the post acts as good students with more than 70% of electric vehicles or rechargeable hybrids in their fleet of almost 4,600 records. On the other hand, the proportion of low -emission cars and services of the SNCF barely exceeds 5%.

In the long -term (or lease) rent field, the credit fleets and BPCE are important with more than 43,000 and almost 57,000 vehicles respectively, but only 8% of them are electric in the second when the participation of the first It amounts to 36 years to 36 %. The same goes for the short -term rental, where the Corsican group Filpar operates a fleet composed of 26% of electric vehicles when that of Mastodon as Enterprise, Europcar, Sixt or Hertz contains only around 5%.

A reform of the LOM law is expected in 2025

Transportation and the environment deplores this two -speed adaptation between “leaders” and “oachelers” that has particularly large repercussions.

“This delay is even more harmful since it reduces the collective benefits of commercial electrification,” explains Léo Larivière, NGO automotive transition manager in France and author of the report.

“Large fleets are the first clients of hexagonal manufacturers. It is a crucial output for the electrical models carried out in France and the maintenance of work in the sector. They are also the large fleets that feed the second -hand market. O , o, o, o, o, o, o, or, this is where they provide the vast majority of the French, “he added

Although a reform of the Mobility Orientation Law must be presented in 2025, it considers that a good inclination could have significant benefits with “the connection of 2.4 million additional electric vehicles, including 1.1 million French models and 360,000 produced in France between 2025 Yy 2035. “In a second step, households could take advantage of the arrival on the occasion of 1.2 million additional second -hand electric vehicles.

On the other hand, the NGO opposes the temptation to introduce “too many exemptions”, in particular to exclude multinational rental. According to her, these exemptions “would lead to empty the LOM of their substance and, in the end, they would continue to rest the electric transition on the shoulders of smaller manufacturers, homes and companies.”
