Electric cars: Chinese Xpeng wants to double its global presence at the end of 2025

One of Beijing’s automotive flagship ships is now aimed at 60 markets worldwide.

The CEO of the Chinese car manufacturer XPEng, specialized in electricity and positioned in a high -middle niche, said on Saturday that he wanted to duplicate at the end of 2025 the number of countries where the company is present. Founded in 2014, XPEng is one of the Chinese companies in the sector that has the strongest international ambitions, particularly to focus on advanced technologies and design.

“We are going to accelerate compared to the 30 countries and regions where we were present in 2024,” said Xiaopng, CEO of Xpeng. “This year, we will go to sixty and we have established more than 300 post -sales service points in the world,” he said.

The Xiaopng expressed itself during an organized press conference in Canton (southern China), apart from the ship’s expedition to Thailand of a load of the brand’s cars. Xpeng already has stores in several European countries, including France, Germany, Sweden and Norway. “During the ten -year period from 2024 to 2033, we hope to make half of our sales outside China,” he said on Saturday.

European taxes

An ambition shown despite the obstacles established by the European Union (EU), which decided at the end of October to increase to 10% of taxes that there is already a surcharge of up to 35% in Chinese battery records.

Xpeng is focusing on several characteristics, such as driving, fast recharge or modular interiors to highlight, especially in the Chinese market, where competition is in its fury. The Xiaopng thus predicted the probable disappearance of certain Chinese manufacturers of electric vehicles on Saturday, in a context of fierce rivalry in terms of prices, services and technological advances.

“This year marks the beginning of the elimination phase in China. I think it will be extremely intense in 2025, 2026 and 2027,” he said.

According to the Chinese federation of car manufacturers (CPCA), a record figure of 10.9 million hybrid or electric models (+40.7% for a year) was sold. The vitality of the sector in recent years has led to the appearance of several national flagships of electric or hybrid vehicles, including byd, SAIC Motor or XPEng manufacturers.
