Double drop in fuel discounts this Wednesday, November 16. The reduction, launched by the Government since September 1 and which lowered prices at the pump by 30 cents per liter, will drop to 10 cents per liter. That of TotalEnergies for its part will be reduced from 20 to 10 cents per liter.
Result: mechanical increase of 30 cents in pump prices at TotalEnergies network stations (Total and Total Access stations), and 20 cents at other brands.
Disappearance of discounts on January 1, 2023
A reduction in discounts initially scheduled for November 1, but which had been postponed in a tense context, with fuel shortages at a large number of service stations in France and strike movements at refineries and fuel depots in France.
Next step: next January 1, with the disappearance of these two discounts. With fears in particular about the increase in the price of diesel, which will no longer be able to be imported from Russia from February 2023 as part of the sanctions linked to the war in Ukraine.
A risk of an “oil minishock” that could, however, be offset by a global recession that would therefore lower oil prices and therefore fuel prices.
