The action of the Chinese electric vehicle giant Byd took off Tuesday morning in the Hong Kong bag, after the group released its “super platform” the day before recharging an electric car in a very short time.
The company revealed on Monday a new load system called “Super E-Platforma”, offering up to 1000 kW of maximum power and allowing cars to recover up to 470 kilometers of autonomy after being connected for only five minutes.
Byd’s action in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange jumped more than 6% to reach a new summit on Tuesday morning, before going down again. The action has increased more than 51 % since the beginning of the year.
This new technology aims to “fundamentally overcome the user’s anxiety about the position”, according to the founder of the Wang Chuanfu company.
“Our goal is to ensure that the load time for electric vehicles is as short as that of thermal vehicles,” he said during the launch ceremony on Monday night.
This new announcement positions Byd against its main competitor Tesla, whose supercharging has a 500 kW power today.
The fall of Tesla
Byd presented the super electronic platform at the same time as two new models of electric vehicles, which will be the first to be equipped with the system: the sedan have L and the SUV Tang L.
The company whose headquarters is located in Shenzhen (north of Hong Kong) has also presented a plan to build more than 4,000 ultra fast load stations in China.
This ambitious expansion follows remarkable growth, February sales increased by 161% to reach more than 318,000 electric vehicles.
Meanwhile, Tesla saw its sales fall by 49% in the Chinese market during the same period.
