Two entities of the American giant of the Goodyear tire are convened before the French justice on May 13 “with a view to a possible accusation”, as part of an investigation for involuntary homicide, after exploding from truck tires that cause fatal accidents in France, Besançon prosecutor announced on Thursday, April 14.
The investigation is also related to the “deception on the substantial qualities of a merchandise” and “deceptive commercial practices,” said the Ethienne Coats prosecutor. Accidents could have avoided “perhaps” if the company had started a defective tire reminder program, he said.
