The Japanese car manufacturer in Difficulty Nissan announced on Tuesday his project to close 7 of his 17 production factories for fiscal year 2027, as part of a drastic recovery plan.
These restructuring efforts will also lead the Japanese group to eliminate 20,000 jobs during the same period of a total of 130,000 employees, or 15% of their global workforce, a reviewed figure compared to the 9,000 employment cuts initially announced in November.
The manufacturer announced that it had suffered an annual colossal annual loss of 671 billion yen (4.1 billion euros) during its financial year 2024-2025.
