Nissan released his future micra last week. A new model that may already seem familiar and, for a good reason, occupies many elements of a certain R5.
The sixth generation of the inhabitant of the city of the Japanese brand first passes to 100% electric and will be based on the same “Ampr small” platform as its French cousin, as part of the alliance between Renault and Nissan. A model that will also be assembled in Douai (north) such as R5. The previous generation of the micra occurred in the Flins Factory (Yvelines) between 2016 and 2023.
As expected, this new micra adopts a similar format, less than 4 meters long and less than 1.80 m wide. It will be launched with 6 exterior colors of the choice (white, black, silver gray, dark blue, red, red) with the possibility of associating it with a gray or black roof depending on the finishing level, for a total of 14 possible combinations.

We also found the same option of batteries and engines, with the large 52 kWh battery (for just over 400 km of autonomy) associated with an 110 kW engine (150 horsepower) and the 40 kWh battery (just over 300 km of autonomy) with a 90 kW engine (120 horses).
“A pedal” of the launch
The same load powers in the Rendezvous: 100 kW in direct current on the large battery and 80 kW in the small, sufficient to move from 15% to 80% of the battery in approximately 30 minutes. The vehicle is also compatible with V2L to be able to connect electrical devices to its load port.
Interesting point: This new micra will offer a “one pedal” function (or “electronic pedal” in Nissan) since its launch since its launch that allows it to lead mainly with the accelerator pedal: to the ascent, the vehicle is maximizing the regenerative braking to stop. A function that must arrive very soon in the R5, inaugurated by the new R4, but that, therefore, will also be available in the Japanese launch.

Inside, the similarity with R5 is even more surprising. The micra remarkably recovers the 10 -inch screens, the first for meters and a second, touch, for infotainment.
In terms of prices, the micra could place a notch below the R5, which currently starts at 28,000 euros (excluding bonds) and is at the top of electric car sales in France since the beginning of the year. Respond soon with the opening of orders and a commercial launch planned for next September.

The arrival of this new Nissan Micrana “marks a key step in the offensive of the Nissan product in Europe, where the brand plans to launch four new 100 % electric models by 2027,” said the brand’s press release.
After this micra, we are waiting for a new generation of its leaf, pioneer of electricity, but also an electric juke and a mini city, a priori a cousin of the future Twingo.
