Peugeot brings its E-3008 and E-5008 to roar its E-3008. The Lion brand is about to launch double motor versions of its two SUVs, which therefore become the most powerful in the range with 325 horsepower. Therefore, a fairly discreet roar in these two 100% electric models, a motorization introduced in this third generation of 3008 and 5008.
Until now, the new E-3008 and E-5008 were marketed in a configuration with a 73 kWh battery (between 487 and 500 km of autonomy) and an engine in the front of 210 horsepower.
Second engine at the rear of 110 horsepower
These double motor versions are based on the same battery block, adding a second engine to the back of 110 horsepower. The set allows you to develop up to 325 horsepower. In the E-5008 that we have chosen to prove, the official autonomy then falls to 465 km, a first concession in these double motor versions, even if this fall remains quite limited to the power of power.

Above all, this Peugeot E-5008 faces a fairly limited competition in the 7-seat electric SUV category. We can significantly mention the Tesla Model X and Mercedes EQB, but with a more premium positioning.
The dual engine version is also losing a little in the volume of the chest, with 862 liters in the 5-seat version, with the two seats folded in the trunk and 294 liters in 7 seats, or 50 liters less than in the E-5008 with a single engine.

A very suitable sports mode
On the performance side, this dual E-5008 engine announces 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, against 9.6 in the version with a single engine. The recovery of 80 to 120 km/h is carried out in 4 seconds, 2 seconds less.
During our road test, we were able to test the different driving modes of this E-5008, with a sporting mode that allows us to exploit this vehicle’s acceleration capacity. In this way, the two engines work permanently with an energy distribution at 60/40 between the front and rear axes. The comfort remains well preserved and it is impressive to see how this configuration moves with great ease this container that still shows more than 2.3 tons on the scale.
These double motor versions also logically add a 4 -wheel AWD mode, with the two engines that also work permanently, but in 50/50 distribution and specific traction control and ESP control. With a distance to the ground that is still quite low, there is no doubt of embarking at the crossroads, but 5008 will feel more comfortable in difficult field, such as snow or dirt roads, also with an assistant of descent of “hill assistance”.

Loss of autonomy
How do you see consumption? During our test, of a total of 175 km, mainly on small mountain roads in the German black forest, we noticed a consumption of 21.3 kWh per 100, which would give almost 340 km of real autonomy.
On the road, at stabilized speed at 130 km/h, we really cannot really count on much more than 200 km, maintaining a sufficient margin of 10% of the autonomy before stopping. And on the recharge side, in addition, E-3008 and E-5008 can collect up to 160 kW in direct current, enough to go from 20 to 80% battery in 30 minutes.
If the prices of E-5008 Dual Motor, the Peugeot E-3008 in this version and a very well equipped launch ending, is offered 53,990 euros. To realize, that makes 9,000 euros more compared to the current E-3008 in the GT finish with the 73 kWh battery, but only the engine in the front of 210 horsepower.
If we apply this additional cost of 9,000 euros to an E-5008 GT currently at 47,000 euros, therefore, we can estimate that the dual motor version in its launch finish could begin at 56,000 euros.
