American electric car maker Tesla has initiated a US recall of 321,628 vehicles due to a problem with taillights that could increase the risk of a collision.
“In rare cases”, the taillights of affected cars turn on intermittently due to a software flaw that could cause false detections during ignition, the company explains in a document sent to the US Highway Safety agency (NHTSA). dated November 15 but made public this weekend.
Software update
Brake lights, reverse lights, and turn signals are not affected. To resolve the issue for the affected cars, Model 3 and Model Y from the years 2020-2023, Tesla provides a free remote software update.
