Renault has just presented the sixth generation of its mythical clio, with deep changes in design terms, in the exterior in terms of interior, and a new offer of motors and team.

Do’ has been the best model of sale of Renault for many years: the Clio. The fifth generation, launched in 2019, but redesigned in 2023 to give it a face washing, is still the success of the sales of the diamond today. The first six months of the new, in other places, the best car sold in Europe. In France since the beginning of the year, it is widely ahead of the Peugeot 208, with almost 70,000 units sold between January and August, against a little less than 48,000 for its main competitor. This new generation, the sixth since the first Clio launched 1990, must confirm this success and even affirm this domination a little more.

A profile design

If the passage of Clio IV to the V had evolved in small touches, the changes were ultimately important with the 2023 restored version. In the program, in particular, a new light firm and the new diamond logo that changed the remarkable front. In this sixth generation, we could logically have a certain conservatism of Renault, but not at all.

This sixth generation presents in particular an unprecedented front side, with a grid that clearly highlights a snout. All surrounded by a new light firm, with front headlights as inserted in a black configuration and position lights that adopt a new drawing. The Renault logo, which was union with the hood in the fifth generation, is found in the middle of the grid and a diamond cloud.

On the side of the dimensions, this new clio grows by 6.7 centimeters, 4.12 meters and also gains 3.9 centimeters wide, 1.77 meters. The height increases just, +1.1 centimeter to 1.45 meters.

The version of “Esprit Alpine” of high gas can now enjoy 18 -inch tires, such as the case of our presentation model with also the launch color, this new “absolute red”, which will also be complemented by the green of the Twingo concept, as well as the white, gray, black and blue more classic blue. We will also notice the arches of the wheels now marked in black plastic and the disappearance of the rocker belt that connected the front and rear wheels.

To the rear, the lights adopt a new drawing in four blocks, two of which are isolated in the trunk. A slightly inclined chest, which strengthens the slightly cut and more aggressive side of this stern, which can remember Renault’s rafale.

Google takes power on board

To L’Endo, this new Clio is approaching the last R5 and R4, with a 10 -inch double screen, for the counters and the’infoentretenimiento. We also find the same direct access commands for the air conditioning, in the center, below the screen and the “My Safety” button on the left, which allows you to recover its personalized configuration and, in particular, which refers to survival alerts or cross lines.

Main evolution compared to Clio V, the Google Ecosystem transition of the second finish (“techno”), as in the last diamond models. What to win in the fluidity and update capacity, with this environment that also remains compatible with Carplay for the owners of’iphone.

Many details show Renault’s desire to be luxurious in this clio, especially in the “Esprit Alpine” version, with the possibility of customizing the brilliant environment, a “spectral titanium” effect (innovative chrome technique in color gradient) around the aerators or el’alcantara in the filling of the door and the board.

An arsenal of help

Already equipped in the fifth generation, this new Clio is progressing even more in driving aid, with a total of 29 systems offered. And everything is only available in the highest versions, with the adaptive regulator and the automatic parking brake (or “Autohold”) included as standard.

It also notes l’Arrja “l’evis of active controller”, an intelligent adaptive regulator (capable of modifying speed as a function of the circulation context, deceleration to be a roundabout, for example) and guarantees to focus on the track, the first in segment B with the R5 and the R4.

Renault also presented a “assistant ’emergency”, capable of slowing down the vehicle up to the complete immobilization in case of driver’s uninactivity.

Under the hood, a more powerful hybrid engine but the diesel disappears

The fifth generation of Clio had introduced a non -rechargeable hybrid engine for the first time. With a fairly important success in the appointment: from the beginning of the new, this version of hybrid electronic technology represents almost 38% of CLIO sales in France.

Renault develops this version of electronic technology with the engine already offered in Captur and Symbioz and that places the power of 145 to 160 horsepower, with a thermal part that ranges from 1.6 liters to 1.8 liters of displacement, an automatic gearbox (multimode with cookies without clutch) and an improved battery that goes from 1.2 to 1.4 kWh. In summary, a slightly more efficient engine (with 0 to 100 km/ in 8.3 seconds, a second less) and more efficient, with 89 g/ km of CO2. Renault promises up to the 1,000 km in a complete one and the ability to roll 80% of the time in electrical use “in urban and peri -urban use.”

In addition, Renault will offer a 1.2 TCE gasoline engine of 115 horsepower, which replaces TCE 90 and will also be available in mechanical box to establish the future offer of this clio VI. We will also find the ECO-G engine, the “bicarburation” of gasoline with still reinforced autonomy.

Diesel disappears from the engine of engines, with the DCI 100 horsepower that was still offered in Clio V.

In conclusion, the CLIO retains a 100%thermal offer, sufficient to offer an alternative to the R5, as well as Captur with the R4.

Prices, but how much?

Renault n’Aún has not revealed the prices of this new clio, which should be announced in the scheduled orders aperation before the end of La’Año. But with the progress presented in terms of design, de’equipo and motorisatons, one thing is safe, you have a prices.

If we exclude the basic versions currently marketed (the “generation” version with the SCE 65 begins at 16,900 euros in limited edition), the CLIO V is currently offered of 21,700 euros with the TCE90 in the end “Evolution”. L’Ibrido 145 starts at 24,500 euros.

To see if Renault will temporarily keep the CLIO V with SCE 65 to maintain an offer under 20,000 euros. A hypothesis that has not been confirmed by the French brand.
