35 years since Renault markets his famous Clio. The best -selling model by the Diamond brand, more than 17 million copies in the world, is already preparing its near future with the sixth generation, presented a few days ago … and that reacted a lot, with important design changes. The opportunity to immerse yourself in the past of this model, which borrows its name from the Greek muse in history.
Clio 1 (1990-1999), a muse to replace R5
In fact, it is under this name of Clio that Renault launched in 1990 that it must succeed in the R5. A small revolution when passing for diamond models, which will no longer be designated by figures, with Twingo, Laguna, Mégane. Names that must enter the minds of the public and the recipe seems to work.
The positioning of the “small versatile car, designed and manufactured according to the same rigor criteria as the big one”, in the terms used by Renault when the model is present, attracts the public. The Clio quickly took the front in sales and won the European trophy of the year of the year in 1991.
A first generation with 3.70 meters long, 42 centimeters less than CLIO 6, and offers modern equipment for time: ABS, assisted direction, air conditioning, electronic automatic transmission, anti-intrusion alarm and even Degming electric mirrors.

Clio 4 (2012 – 2020), the most “sensual”

Inspired by the concept of Dezir, the CLIO 2012 is seduced with its new curves and is among the first creations of the new designer, Laurens van den Acker.
First R-Link integrated multimedia tablet, optimized sound system, multiple customization options … The Clio is modernized. During these 2010, this generation was sold every year in more copies than the previous year.
Clio 5 (2019 – 2025), Hybrid Successful Passage

Clio 5, the current one was presented in early 2019. Then it was presented as the synthesis of what made the success of this model since its inception. Modernity in its segment with new driving aids, versatility with a trunk and habitability.
