An electric at 100 euros per month? Not really: social lease has returned, but the real cost of the car can increase by 78%

While the social lease will return as of September 30, this device that allows you to rent an electric car for low -income assets can see that its cost flies, reveals a study by the insurer Leocare.

The social lease will return this Tuesday, September 30. Like last year, this system should allow homes with modest income to change to electricity through a long -term rental contract. To benefit from it, it is necessary to justify a maximum fiscal income of 16,300 euros and use this car to get to work, with more than 15 km per day or 8,000 km per year as part of its professional activity.

In total, 50,000 files will be validated, with many customers who have already prepared their application through the dealers of the various brands that offer vehicles with moderately financed moderate rentals by the State. Therefore, it is surely too late to do so at the last moment with a very important madness if we remember the 90,000 applications made last year.

It is necessarily the cost of subsidized income that attracts eligible people, with a first increased income more frequently covered by the help of the State. But be careful, the real cost can largely exceed the attractive rental rate shown between 95 and 200 euros per month for three years.

In fact, this is what a study of the neo-Assignor will reveal: “In fact, public aid only covers the rental of the vehicle. Insurance, maintenance, equipment: everything else remains the responsibility of the driver,” said a press release.

From 1,140 euros per year at 2,033 euros

And they are the most affordable income that suffers the greatest increase by taking these additional costs into account: in a large Fiat Panda Red, the price of the lease only at 95 euros per month represents, for example, 1,140 euros per year. If we add the average rate of all risk insurance, “recommended formula for new lease vehicles,” says Leocare, 435 euros per year, and the estimated maintenance cost at 458 euros, we reached a rate of 2,033 euros, 78% more than the initial price.

The Hyundai Instil and Citroën ë-C3 also see this rate, including insurance and maintenance, in more than 70%, with respective annual costs of 2,155 euros and 2,016 euros.

It is the Peugeot E-308 style that represents the most important annual budget, always including these additional estimated costs of insurance and maintenance, at 3,430 euros per year. But with a 42% increase compared to the lease alone, 200 euros per month, or 2,400 euros per year.

In the lower part of the classification (the complete table that is located at the bottom of this article, in addition to the previous graph), four models limit this increase between the price of the lease alone and the prices that include insurance and 40%maintenance: the Renault R5 roof 150CH, R4 Evolution 150ch, Mégane Balaba and the special of Alfa Romeo.

Other costs to take into account

A real cost for taking into account before signing, especially because these estimates “only take into account basic costs,” says Leocare. You can also add equipment offered in options or the cost of recharge, which can represent a substantial budget without the possibility of recharging at home or in your workplace.

You can also anticipate costs at the end of the lease: repair costs (with repairs that can be very expensive), cleaning and possible to exceed the kilometer package.

“As part of its rental contract, a 12,000 -kilometer package is included at least. If the mileage is exceeded at no cost provided by the contract, additional costs can be applied, provided for in the rental contract,” says the official social lease.

An sure premium that can be doubled according to the profile

In insurance, Leocare recalls that “the amount can vary significantly: with the equivalent vehicle, the premium can double from one driver to another” and would like to “systematically integrate this position in the evaluation of public policies.”

“Otherwise, modest households, which are supposed to address the system, can face an unforeseen financial position and difficult to maintain, particularly due to annual increases in insurance and losses tariffs,” said the press release.

Fortunately in this context, social lease only refers to active people:

“The accumulation of eligibility conditions (income, distance, state) tends to rule out the most fragile profiles: unemployed, young people in integration, precarious families without stable employment,” says Leocare.
