Management schools are mobilized on Monday, September 29, against the lack of places in the driver’s license exam, which forces students to wait months, while there are solutions, they provide professionals. Traditional management schools are asked to attack and meet by car at noon Place of the République in Paris.
“The movement will continue,” he predicted in mid -September for AFP, the president of UNIC, Benjamin Panis, which provides the equivalent of a “3,000 cars” parade in the capital in 2019 against a licens reform.
Professional organizations will also request that they be received in Matignon, explains Patrick Mirouse to AFP, head of the ECF Management School and President of UNIDEC, one of the unions behind the mobilization. Online management schools will attack only the movement, assures the AFP Edouard Rudolf, president of his federation, Fenaa, and CEO Simone.
Up to 8 months of waiting
In Lyon, Enguererrand de Boissieu waited four months this year to have a place, he tells AFP. The 30 -year -old lawyer needed the license for professional reasons and because he was going to become a father.
It must be particularly patient in the main cities and in Afrance: up to eight months of schools of the waiting school depending on the number of exams that the prefecture attributes them.
Meanwhile, Enguererand de Boissieu resumed “an hour here, there” not to lose hand, an hour of driving was billed between 50 and 60 euros in France. This amount is added to the initial cost of the training: around 1,800 euros in a traditional school and 1,100 euros online, details Edouard Rudolf.
But some students cannot pay the extension and “take risks” while waiting for their turn, it emphasizes for the AFP Christophe Saligot, independent instructor in Hauts-de-Seine. They lead illegally with their loved ones or find false monitors on the Internet, some of whom do not even have the license, the professional is outraged.
“Strangulation temple”
Almost two thirds (64%) of young people aged 18 to 24 who do not have a license that is difficult to obtain an appointment for the exam, according to an opinionway survey conducted for Simone Car in September 2025. Patrick Mirouse, which directs several management schools in the southwest, denounces a “bottled” at the time when students are ready for the event.
In question: first the lack of inspectors. There are less than 1,500 in France for almost 1.4 million students in 2023. All management school organizations require hiring from 150 to 200 additional officials. Fifteen positions were created in 2023, 38 in 2024 and 103 should be in 2025, according to the Ministry of Interior.
But the workforce did not follow the increase in the number of candidates, due to the possibility of passing the license at age 17, since 2024, and its financing on the training account (305,500 students registered with the CPF in 2023, according to Dares, the Statistics Directorate of the Ministry of Laboratory).
What solutions?
The management schools questioned also evoke a very selective exam, with a success rate that stagnates just above 50%. The Government has twice the unions in recent months, but “we let the situation crawl,” according to the head of the Simone car.
However, professionals say there are solutions. Some management school organizations request to go from 20 to 28 hours of handling before the exam, to improve the success rate.
Fenaa offers a capture, as in high school, where students who have almost the necessary points would leave their license after five hours of additional driving, without ironing the event.
For Patrick Mirouse, it must allow a driving accompanied by 14 years, instead of 16. Students who learn like this need five to seven hours of less training, he explains, and their success rate is better (around 77%).
Christophe Saligot recalls that the exam had temporarily lightened certain theoretical questions after Covvid, to catch up with the confinements.
