From January 1, 2023, the maximum ecological bonus drops to 5,000 euros for half of the “less modest” French and rises to 7,000 euros for the rest. But there were still some doubts about other important aid schemes, such as the conversion bonus or the bonus for used cars.
Conversion bonus aimed at the first 8 deciles
The conversion bonus, which can complement the ecological bonus, allows you to receive additional help when scrapping an old vehicle: a diesel before 2011 or a gasoline model before 2006.
In 2022, it allowed to recover up to 5,000 euros in the purchase of a new or used electric car, subject to rental conditions or for large passengers. For people with a reference tax income (RFR) per share greater than 13,489 euros, the aid was 2,500 euros for the purchase of an electric car and 1,500 euros for a plug-in hybrid vehicle.
Big change in 2023, this conversion bonus can no longer be claimed by people with an RFR per unit greater than 22,983 euros: that is, the last two income deciles, as can be seen in this summary table from Avere-France.
For the purchase of an electric car, on the other hand, it is reinforced, from 5,000 to 6,000 euros, for RFR less than 6,358 euros (the first two deciles of income per tax share 2020) and RFR less than 14,089 euros (the first five deciles). . ) who are also heavy cyclists (annual mileage greater than 12,000 kilometers or home-work commute greater than 30 kilometers).
The aid of 2,500 euros is maintained, but for RFR between 14,089 euros and 22,983 euros (deciles 5 to 8) and legal entities (companies and associations).
For the purchase of a plug-in hybrid car, the conversion premium is 4,000 euros for the most modest households and 1,500 euros for deciles 5 to 8 and legal entities.
Used bond held at 1000 euros
Another point on which the public information sites in general, such as this page of the “service-public.fr” site, consulted this Friday, January 6, are still not really up to date: the bonus intended for used electric cars will be maintains. in the decree of December 30, 2022.
A bonus of 1,000 euros, without resource conditions, which aims to support the development of the second-hand electricity market. In 2022, despite a still reduced offer, sales of these models had increased by 25.8% in volume. The 71,395 used electric cars that changed hands last year still represent a drop in the bucket, with 1.3% of the market in 2022, compared to 52.35% for diesel cars and 41% for electric cars. gasoline. But these sales should explode in the coming years, hand in hand with the new market, with electric vehicles representing almost 13% of sales in 2022.
