After the publication of the commercial results of the Renault group and its Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands, it is up to Stellantis to publish the results of its 2022 sales. Peugeot thus opens the ball by announcing, this Monday, January 30, having sold 1,056,182 vehicles worldwide last year, a figure 15% lower than in 2021.
Increase in sales outside of Europe
However, in its press release, Peugeot welcomes “the continued internationalization of sales outside Europe by 27.4%, an increase of 3.7 points compared to 2021”, with increased volumes of almost 4%.
However, Europe continues to largely dominate the brand’s global sales, with 772,466 units and a 5.5% market share. South America is far behind with 108,065 sales, just ahead of the Middle East and Africa area with 97,293 units. Volumes remain anecdotal in Asia-Pacific-China, with 70,148 sales.
As in 2021, the Peugeot 208 consolidates as the leading model in the European market, and its electric version, the e-208, for its part, dominates sales in segment B, multipurpose city cars.
