Fuel prices rise ever so slightly at the pump

Last week, pump prices rose slightly at service stations. The price of diesel remained below that of 95 unleaded gasoline for the third consecutive week.

One more penny. Last week, according to the latest figures published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition as of Friday, February 17, diesel prices increased slightly on average at French service stations compared to the previous week.

The liter of diesel thus appears on average at 1.8382 euros per liter, that is, one cent more than the previous week. However, the liter of diesel is still less than the liter of unleaded 95-E10. The price of the latter rose half a cent last week, to 1.8776 euros.

Prices that remain high

After a significant upturn at the beginning of January, with the end of the discounts at pumps, prices have remained above 1.80 euros per liter ever since. Prices close to those registered at the beginning of March 2022 and then in April 2022, in the first weeks of the war in Ukraine. However, in general it does not reach 2 euros per liter.

The most modest motorists who use their car to go to work will be able to benefit from a fuel check of 100 euros until March 31. In early February, the CEO of Totalenergies, Patrick Pouyanné, had mentioned a possible return of a pump discount if the price of diesel returned to 2 euros.
