The Lagardère group announced on Friday the appointment of Geoffroy Lejeune, 34, as editorial director of the Sunday newspaper (JDD), in full strike of their teams, contrary to the arrival of the far-right journalist, recently landed from the weekly current values.
Geoffroy Lejeune succeeds Jérôme Béglé, himself appointed managing editor of paris partyanother title of the Lagardère group, whose absorption by Vivendi, the group of ultra-conservative billionaire Vincent Bolloré, has just been authorized by Brussels.

“Geoffroy is a raw talent in French journalism that we couldn’t pass up,” Arnaud Lagardère, CEO of the group of the same name, was quoted as saying in the press release.
According to the group, the former editorial director of current valuessupport of Eric Zemmour in the 2022 presidential elections and close to Marion Maréchal, “will have the mission of embodying journalistic excellence, namely: the facts, the investigation, the duty to inform”.
The JDD will not appear on Sunday, since practically all of its editorial staff decided on Friday to continue the strike that began the day before to challenge the arrival at its head of Geoffroy Lejeune, internal sources told AFP.
The newsroom voted with 96% (81 in favor, three against, three who did not decide) “in favor of the continuation of the strike” until Saturday at 5:30 p.m., announced the society of journalists (SDJ) of the newspaper Sunday in a statement.
