Soon a new line on the payroll. As of July, the “net social amount” will appear on the payrolls. This information will also appear on benefit statements (unemployment insurance, daily sickness benefits, disability pension, etc.) from January 1, 2024.
The purpose of mentioning the net social amount in the pay slips is to simplify the procedures to access social assistance and thus fight against the lack of recourse. This amount corresponds to the net income once all mandatory social security contributions have been deducted and as such constitutes the reference income to declare in order to benefit from certain additional income such as the activity bonus or substitution income such as the RSA.
The net social amount communicated automatically to CAF in 2024
With the display of this income on payroll and benefit statements, you no longer need to calculate it yourself. This “will reduce the risk of errors in the declarations of resources and therefore improper or reminders of benefits, sources of financial insecurity for the beneficiaries,” the Government explained in February.
From now on, it will be enough to declare the accumulation of the net social amounts that appear in the payroll. It should also be noted that employers must declare the net social amount of their workers to CAF as of 2024 so that they can report this amount directly in the resource requests that will be pre-filled.
For those who receive neither the RSA nor the activity bonus, the display of the net social amount does not change anything. “On the other hand, it can allow you to simulate your rights to these benefits on the site of the Caisse des désmissions famliliales or on the site of the Mutualité sociale agricole”, underlines the Ministry of Solidarity.
