Taxpayers who have not yet submitted the IRS return on their income for 2022 have until next Friday to comply with this declaration obligation.
Data available on the Finance Portal indicates that 5,788,545 IRS returns have already been filed, of which 3,634,187 were from people who only earned income from categories A (personal employment) and H (pensions) and 2,154,358 from other types, namely income category B (self-employed). employee), capital gains or real estate, for example.
The deadline for filing the IRS is particularly relevant for taxpayers not covered by the automatic IRS, as for them the provisional tax return from the Internal Revenue Service (AT) becomes final at the end of the period and is considered “delivered.”
The most recent data from the Ministry of Finance shows that the value of refunds already processed is €2.6 million, covering approximately 2.7 million taxpayers.
In accordance with the legislation in force, the AT has until July 31 to proceed with the settlement of the declarations submitted – although most of them have already been paid – and the refund must be made until August 31.
For those who have to pay taxes (because the withholding tax they paid in 2022 was not enough or because they have income that is not subject to withholding), the deadline for making this payment is also August 31.
