Decathlon prefers to apply a “zero risk” policy. The big brand specialized in sporting goods has just withdrawn from the market three products that could have some success in the middle of summer but that can be dangerous. These are the “baby hammock” buoys produced by the Nabaiji brand and more specifically the following three references: 8752138, 8752139 and 8752140.
Customers who purchased one of these three buoys between February 1 and June 23 are invited to stop using them and return them to their nearest Decathlon store. They will then be refunded for the purchase.
“precautionary principle”
At the origin of this withdrawal procedure, the identification by Decathlon of a risk of the object tipping over that could cause young users to drown, the latter finding themselves “with their heads underwater with no possibility of returning on their own”.
“Although the use of our buoy must be done under the supervision of parents, we do not want to take any risk with the safety of children as a precaution, we are withdrawing all our products,” Decathlon adds in a press release.
In case of doubt, customers can call 09.69.32.33.22 from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
