The amount of the ARS is modulated according to the age of the child. Thus this year it amounts to 398.09 euros for children from 6 to 10 years old, to 420.05 euros for children from 11 to 14 years old and to 434.61 euros for adolescents from 15 to 18 years old.

However, the return to school allowance is paid subject to the means test. Families whose annual resources do not exceed 25,775 euros per dependent child are eligible for them. The ceiling is then increased by 5,948 euros for each additional dependent child.
“When the family’s resources slightly exceed the ceiling, then they benefit from a return-to-school subsidy at a reduced rate, decreasing according to their income”, however specifies the Ministry of Solidarity.
Keep in mind that families who have already benefited from the ARS do not have to do anything: the aid payment will be automatic. However, those with children ages 16-18 must provide an affidavit that their child is still in school or learning.
For their part, families that have a child whose sixth birthday is after December 31, 2023 and who is admitted to the CP at the beginning of the school year must send a school certificate to their CAF or MSA to benefit from the ARS. Finally, any first application for ARS must be made to your CAF or MSA.
