Elon Musk regains the title of richest person in the world

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, founder of SpaceX and Twitter owner Elon Musk, today regained the title of richest person in the world, dethroning the chairman and CEO of the French luxury company LVMH, Bernard Arnault, according to Forbes.

The 52-year-old billionaire reclaimed his spot following a surge in Tesla’s stock value, according to Forbes’ Realtime Billionaires List.

Musk’s net worth gained $4,100 million today (3,699 million euros), increasing his net worth by more than 1.75% to $240,700 million.

At 13:00 local time (17:00 GMT), shares of the electric vehicle company were up nearly 2.5%, after falling last week following the presentation of Tesla’s trading results.

Musk is currently in the news for changing the blue bird logo of Twitter – the social network he bought for $44,000 million last year – to an “X”. While this has not affected his fortune, it has kept him in the news.

Meanwhile, the wealth of Arnault, the 74-year-old owner of Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Tiffany, fell by 1% (4,400 million euros) to $ 234,900 million due to the devaluation of LVMH shares.

Arnault dethroned Musk on this list last December, and since then Musk has held the title a few times, but always for short periods.

Last month, the two met for lunch at a luxury hotel in Paris.

The third place on this list of the richest people in the world is taken by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with a fortune of $151,900 million.
