Inflation: bonus of up to 1750 euros in Nexans

This shared value bonus paid by the cable specialist will affect 80% of the employees.

Faced with galloping inflation and strong pressure from employees, more and more companies are multiplying raises, bonuses and other bonuses.

At Nexans, the French cable giant, a shared value bonus was paid at the end of September, its amount: from 750 to 1750 euros depending on the remuneration of employees. Force Ouvrière specifies that more than 80% of the employees are affected by the bonus in accordance with the legal provisions.

“Necessary” wage increases

“This emergency measure for purchasing power therefore benefits all employees and subcontractors whose salary is less than or equal to three SMICs. However, this bonus remains a temporary solution in the face of record inflation,” writes the labor union.

“A bonus can never replace a salary increase. Effective long-term responses are now necessary. For this reason, the advancement of the next NAO at the end of this year is a positive sign that should translate into results”, adds Stéphane. Zidouh, Central Union Delegate FO Nexans.

Let’s remember that according to a study by the Alixio Group in organizations with more than 50 employees, the average salary increase will be 4.3% next year. Specifically, 35% of the companies will grant an increase from 3 to 4%, 21% from +4 to 5%, 23% from +5 to 6% and 13% will exceed 6%.
