The government is proposing an increase in the meal allowance in the civil service from the current EUR 4.77 to EUR 5.20 per day, the secretary general of the Federation of Administrative Unions (Fesap) said Friday.
José Abraão spoke to journalists at the end of a meeting with the State Secretary for Public Administration, Inês Ramires, about the wage increase measures to be included in the proposed state budget for 2023 (OE2023).
The Fesap leader indicated that the state secretary said at the meeting that the measure will cost 77 million euros, which amounts to 9.60 euros extra per month for each official.
Fesap proposed an increase in the food allowance to six euros in 2023.
“The State Secretary told us that (…) the meal allowance would change to 5.20 euros, we hope that this case can also be reviewed”said José Abraão, referring to the Ministry of Labor “recently published a regulation with an increase of EUR 5.45 for administrative staff”.
Despite the value of the meal allowance proposed by the government being lower than the proposal of the UGT union structure, José Abraão was of the opinion that, given the first meeting, which was held on Monday, “there is an adjustment by the government to the proposals from Fesap”.
As he progressed, Fesap asked the government for an additional meeting as there is still room for improvement on the proposal.
“We realized that the margin that existed at the first meeting to improve on these proposals went from an average increase of 3.6% to 3.9%, keeping the 5.1% of the payroll and I want to believe , as the Council of Ministers and that the meetings will continue, that there is still room for the proposals to evolve”emphasized the trade unionist.
The proposal to increase the value of the food subsidy in the civil service from 4.77 euros to 5.20 euros in 2023 comes a day after the government presented at the Social Dialogue a measure that goes in the same direction, for the private sector .
On Thursday, the government presented to the social partners an update of the value of the food subsidy exemption to 5.20 euros, committing to “evaluate the model that will explain the exemption and the value over the period of validity of the agreement.” establishes”. , that is, until 2026.
