The Olympics are recruiting. Paris 2024 organized this Tuesday, with its partners, a gigantic “work event” in Saint-Denis, more precisely in the Cité du Cinéma, in the heart of what will be the future athletes’ village. Objective: Find labor as the deadline approaches.
Candidates parade through the corridors: 10,000 people have registered for this job position. And that’s a good thing because many Olympic service providers are still looking for staff. This is the case of reception, catering, but also a lot of security. Like the company Gest’n Sport that wants to hire at least 1,000 people.
“So we have been rebuilding our base for two and a half years and we are going to find as many personnel as possible to be able to provide services,” the manager specifies. In fact, the security sector, which has been chronically understaffed for years, is coming under special scrutiny less than a year before the Olympics.
The Organizing Committee recruits more than 2000 people
In total, around fifty businessmen are present at the Cité du Cinéma. Large groups, such as Sodexo, which hires 6,000 people, but also smaller companies and, obviously, the Games Organizing Committee, which is still looking for people.
In total 16,000 positions will be filled. Mainly fixed-term contracts, but the organizers promise that future recruiters will highlight this Olympic experience on the resume.
